5 Things You Can Do NOW To Create Momentum For 2024

2023 has been a big year in my business. There’s been a ton of momentum and I’ve felt in flow for the majority of the year.

“Flow” is a word that I use a lot around here and I do that intentionally.

By definition, the word “flow” means the action of moving along in a steady, continuous stream. It’s not difficult or heavy. You aren’t hitting too many roadblocks along the way. Things simply feel aligned.

And for the most part, that’s been 2023 for me, which has been incredible!

I’ve launched 3 new products, ran two cohorts of LaunchFlow Accelerator, and grown the LaunchFlow Lab.

There’s been a lot accomplished this year and I’m really proud of that.

It’s not been until Q4 where things got a little rocky – more so personally than professionally.

(If you’re new here, here’s a brief explanation of why.)

But even with the past few months feeling a little out of balance due to things outside of my control, the business side of things has been able to remain in flow.

And it recently dawned on me WHY that is!

Things have been able to move forward in my business (even when it’s been really hard to show up) because of the well-structured processes and systems I’ve worked months (honestly years) to put into place so that I can maintain momentum even when I’m overwhelmed.

Momentum or flow in your business isn’t something that you just wake up one day and have.

It’s something that’s created day-by-day, task-by-task, decision-by-decision, that gets you to a point where you look up and think, “wow – we’re really doing this, huh?”

With this in mind and 2023 coming to a close in the next few weeks, I want to share a few things you can start doing NOW to create that momentum in your business and start feeling in flow.

(And if you’re reading this well into 2024 or beyond, just know that all of these still apply!)

5 Things You Can Do NOW To Create Momentum For 2024

  1. Implement Systems

I know, I know…

You hear people preach having systems in your business all the time and while all of that talk can feel noisy, you never really appreciate a system until you really need it.

Implementing well-structured processes and routines can streamline your work, making it easier to maintain momentum even when you’re feeling overwhelmed.

From project management tools to automated email campaigns, effective systems help you stay organized and on track, reducing the chaos that often accompanies challenging times.

For example, who wants to deal with chasing down clients for invoices when you’re already stressed the heck out?

By relying on established workflows, you can minimize stress and maintain a sense of control during tough times.

  1. Hire Team Members or Outsource to Contractors

One of the best things I ever did for my business is hire help!

No matter how great you are, it’s simply impossible to do everything yourself… and if you try, it’s a straight path to burnout (take it from me).

When it comes to hiring, it can be hard to know where to start, so I encourage you to consider ALL of the things that you’re responsible for in your business and start making a list.

From there, put a star next to the things that truly do require you for the work. Then, put another star next to the things that you ENJOY doing. ⭐️

The things that don’t have a star next to them are the things that are great indicators of outsourcing.

For me, that’s social media. I KNOW that being present on social media is important, but spending hours of my time designing graphics and writing captions isn’t something I necessarily love or need to do.

With that in mind, I hire it out! If you need to start small, that’s okay too – consider hiring a VA to hand off miscellaneous tasks to.

  1. Hone Your Copy and Messaging

As a copywriter of nearly two decades, you can probably guess that this one is my favorite!

Prioritizing your copy and messaging isn’t something that you can afford to skip, because it’s truly THE thing that attracts your ideal audience, generates leads, and makes you more sales.

And no, this isn’t a one time thing. Your copy and messaging is something that you will continually edit and refine as your business grows and changes, but getting it to a point where it’s doing its job is KEY to creating momentum in your business.

  1. Create Consistent Content

Trust me, I know… “creating content” probably feels like a CONSTANT to do as a business owner and I truly get it.

But this has truly been one of the best things I’ve done for myself since starting my business.

For years, I showed up in my Facebook group daily, I’ve always sent weekly emails to my list, I’ve created video content for social media, and this past year I re-committed to blogs in my business.

The best part about this is that this content has been able to be reused and repurposed in seasons where I haven’t necessarily been in the best headspace to create fresh content.

So, commit to creating content consistently on at least one platform of choice NOW, so that you can have the same pay off later.

And yes, this is me giving you permission to reuse and recycle your content. 😉

  1. Create a Yearly Marketing Calendar

Lastly, create a yearly marketing calendar that you can refer to allll year long and plan accordingly.

This one might sound simple and straightforward, but it’s actually one of the things that a lot of people skip.

If you want to create real momentum in your business and feel in flow, flying by the seat of your pants isn’t going to cut it!

A marketing calendar is simply a PLAN that can be created in a Google spreadsheet or an Asana board that serves as a roadmap for what you’re focusing on at any given time in your business.

When you don’t have a marketing calendar with specified dates for when you’re launching certain offers or when you’re promoting certain parts of your business, you’re essentially throwing spaghetti at the wall with no real outcome in mind aside from a few likes on Instagram.

A marketing calendar will help you strategically design a plan for your business so that you focus on the right things at the right time in order to get the results that you really want!
